Detective

Illustration Friday's theme this week is "detective" . . . which was fine for my little monster, as he felt like quite the detective sneaking through the woods that snowy morning. Whatever that scent was swirling in the breeze, he was determined to find it, and then pounce on it, and eat it, because what else could a monster do? . . .

Hey Justin! I really love this one! It's great how you worked out the character, which seems to be based a little on the fellas from your last weeks entry! The wind swirls and the trees are great too! I think it's really good you put your characters in complete sceneries now!You really pushing your style and it is awesome!!!! Not kidding ^____^

A very good interpretation of the subject and a nice choice of colours as well (spring just started here two weeks ago, but I already miss winter).

He's so cute and sneaky! Very nice. Love the composition the eye goes right too him.

Is your drawing of all that snow yesterday the cause of all this not so wonderful white stuff covering the ground today and yesterday?

Love it Justin! In this one I see your style standing out but you have expanded it and I really, really love it!!!!!!!!!! I just can't say enough about how happy I am to see it done the way you do spots, just more fully fleshed.

Thanks! The spot illos were helpful for starting to think about character, but adding the backgrounds definitely creates a sense of "scene". Glad u like it!

Ho! And there I was, stumbling through the forest with my wooden leg dragging in the snow.... and came across this amazing creature. So this is one of the monsters! Great creature Justin. And the way you have depicted the scent scintillating through the trees is beautifully done. The textures on the bark are grande and add a lot too I think. Looking forward to more of the little fellows.
